TRANSMISSION
REPAIR
 |
Remove,
inspect, and rebuild your transmission. Same Day Service
in most cases.
Automatic transmissions are found in most all types of
vehicles today, including heavy trucks and equipment, as
well as all types of lighter cars and trucks.
It's important to keep fluid in your transmission at all
times! This is the best method to avoid transmission
problems. Transmission cooler lines are a big source of
leaks. Check them and check your fluid regularly!
Some problems can be fixed without even removing your
transmission. If you suspect a problem, call us today! |

DIFFERENTIAL SERVICE
 |
We
replace damaged gears and fluid.
Whirring noise only while decelerating at any or all
speeds is most likely caused by bad pinion bearings or
loose pinion bearing preload, and almost never by bad
ring and pinion gears.
A howl or whine during acceleration over a small or
large speed range is usually caused by worn ring and
pinion gears or improper gear set up.
Rumbling or whirring at speeds over about 20 mph can be
caused by worn carrier bearings. The noise may change
while turning.
Regular clunking every few feet may indicate broken ring
or pinion gears.
Banging or clunking only on corners can be caused by
broken spider gears, lack of sufficient posi-traction
lubrication, or worn posi-traction clutches.
A low rumble while turning may indicate bad wheel
bearings.
A steady vibration that increases with the vehicle’s
speed can be caused by worn u-joints or an out of
balance driveshaft.
Clunking only when starting to move or getting on and
off the gas might be loose yokes, bad u-joints or worn
transfer case or transmission parts. |

CLUTCH
REPLACEMENT
 |
Manual
transmission cars all have clutches that need periodic
adjustment and replacement. We replace the clutch,
pressure plate and throwout bearing. We also resurface
the flywheel.
Slipping (Engine revs up but car speed does not
increase, or rpm's start going up as you go up a hill):
either a bad clutch disk or the clutch needs adjustment.
Won't go into gear or hard to shift: either bad linkage
(cable or hydraulic failures are common) or bad pressure
plate.
Clutch makes noise: a whirring noise which changes as
you press and release the clutch pedal can be a
throw-out or pilot bearing. |

TRANSMISSION
FLUID
REPLACEMENT
 |
We change
your filter along with your transmission fluid. Check
your manual for the correct interval.
The most important thing is to check your transmission
fluid regularly to make sure it's full, have it changed
at the correct intervals as specified by your
manufacturer and use the proper type of fluid.
